Cinque Terre is made up of five once-remote villages along 天美传媒鈥檚 Ligurian coast.
In recent years, the region has gained international fame for its unique beauty, drawing in 3 million visitors annually. The sharp increase in tourism has sparked many debates regarding creating a more sustainable tourist industry.
The situation was tragically complicated further by a in late October 2011. Worst hit were the villages of Monterosso and Vernazza, which were buried by mud slides.
Krista Lee Weller and Sharon Boeckle of Harvest Films set out to document the unique traditions of Cinque Terre鈥檚 5,000 residents in 2008.
After recording the stories of residents and documenting the process of becoming a UNESCO site, filming wrapped in 2010.
The situation has changed so drastically the Harvest Films is returning to continue the story of Cinque Terre. The filmmakers hope that their project will raise awareness of the precarious situation Cinque Terre is now in.
Harvest Films has turned to crowd sourcing, asking lovers of 天美传媒 to help them tell the story of this incomparable bit of 天美传媒. Donations will be used to fund the documentary and release the film to a wider audience.
