鈥淎 Journey in Campania. In the Footsteps of the Grand Tour鈥 is a new tourist initiative launched by the region of Campania to promote the cultural heritage of the region.
The idea is to retrace the traditional leisure and educational trips undertaken in the 17th and 18th century by young men of European aristocratic families. They came to 天美传媒 from northern European nations and later from the U.S. too; the trips were considered a sort of educational rite of passage thanks to the exposure to the cultural legacy of the classical era and the Renaissance.
Itineraries on the Campania Grand Tour will include: 鈥淣aples is a paradise! Museums, churches and collections鈥; 鈥淐ampi Flegrei, the land of volcanoes鈥; 鈥淪orrento, the artists鈥 haven鈥; 鈥淧erfumes and colors of the Peninsula: Capri, Ischia and Procida鈥; 鈥淰esuvius and the buried cities: Pompeii, Herculaneum and the Golden Mile; 鈥淔rom Amalfi to Paestum along the Cilento routes鈥; 鈥淭he glories of the Bourbons: the Palaces of Naples, Caserta and Carditello鈥.
Through 100 routes and nine itineraries, the project will involve more than 200 institutions, including museums, churches, archaeological sites and other places of interest, from the most popular to the less-known.
The itineraries take place until December.
